Kathleen Haydon

Kathleen Haydon received her Bachelors in Music (piano) from Washington University in St. Louis in 1991. As an accomplished teacher she was asked to take on a full time position as an accompanist for choirs at Webster High School in St. Louis and was eventually invited to join the faculty of the music department at Washington University.

During her music career, Kathleen had a keen interest in paintings of flowers, stained glass and when visiting art museums she was drawn again to flowers. She is particularly fond of works by Georgia O’Keefe and even visited the O’Keefe museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

When her husband was offered a grant and fellowship to attend a doctoral program at the University of Florida, she decided it was her chance to pursue her passion full time, creating boro glass flower pendants and glass beaded jewelry. The results of her love for flowers can be viewed at Mullet Beach Gallery.
