Jan Mulligan
Fused & Dichroic Glass Art, Crystal River, FL.
Janet has always been fascinated with glass. As a young girl, she was mesmerized by the crystal chandelier in the movie “Pollyanna” and was awe inspired by the auras of stained glass in church.
Today Janet pursues her passion for glass through the art of glass fusion; cutting, shaping, and melting glass. “The possibilities are endless. The opaqueness, hue, shading with glass shards, powders and frit, the effects can be amazingly diverse. Effects can be made by varying the speed and intensity of heating the glass.”
Living on King’s Bay in Crystal River, her husband and two Yorkies share the waterfront with manatee, egret, alligators, raccoons, osprey, owls, jumping mullet and many other species. With a “day job” as an Assessment Specialist for the Citrus County Schools as well as having family of four grown children, their spouses and soon to be three grandchildren, she still makes time everyday to “play with glass.”
