What's Behind the Name

The name of our gallery was inspired by the Southern cultural reference of “mullet on
the beach.”

The Minorcan people came to this area from a tiny island where fishing was a way of life. When the mullet began running as schools of larger fish swam behind them – the men dropped their current activity and ran for the boats to seize the moment of fortuitous fishing.

Our artists at Mullet Beach stop for any naturally-occurring visual splendor & “seize the moment.” — They are practiced at finding concealed treasures we might often miss.

Come experience the magic and beauty of St. Augustine’s historic streets, Atlantic beaches and marshes through their eyes. Mullet Beach Gallery was founded in 2000 and features local and regional Fine Art and Crafts.
